April 1, 2007:

I've added the final 48 Nightbreed screenshots to the pictures section, bringing the total number of Nightbreed screenshots on Midian to 298. And that concludes that nonsense. Taking screenshots has never been one of my favorite things to do, but the images that resulted are absolutely stunning.

March 30, 2007:

I've added an additional 110 Nightbreed screenshots to the pictures section. I still have around 50 more to add & will likely get them up on the site sometime this weekend. Beyond that, I plan to add some high resolution pictures and drawings from 'The Nightbreed Chronicles' and 'Nightbreed: The Making Of The Film' at some point between now and armageddon.

September 5, 2006:

Although this is technically a small update considering everything I need to do around here, I've added a new section under Resources called "Collectibles". I intend to add several subsections including the comics, magazine articles, soundtrack and so forth, but today's addition is books, which includes various versions of "Cabal" & other Nightbreed related printed materials with ISBN numbers.

May 22, 2006:

I've added pictures and descriptions of the remaining 19 Nightbreed characters found in 'The Nightbreed Chronicles' to the Reference/Characters page & updated the pictures of those I added prior. I'm not entirely sure what's next on the agenda, but chances are, I'll be adding more screenshots or another magazine article.

May 8, 2006:

I've added descriptions for 16 Nightbreed characters on the Reference/Characters page. The descriptions were those found in 'The Nightbreed Chronicles' written by Clive Barker and published by Titan Books in 1990. I still have 19 characters to add, most of which are lesser known, and would like to update the pictures of the 16 characters I've already listed, but will do both of those things when time allows.

February 23, 2006:

I transcribed yet another article from Toxic Horror entitled "The Inventor of Techno-Dante" and posted it today. Also, on the 18th, I added 50 more screenshots to the pictures section. I still have to do the character page, but it's technically next on my agenda (unless I manage to find something else to distract me). Other than that, I just tweaked a few things that were annoying me and added banner code to my links page for those gracious souls who would like to put the Midian banner on their pages, sites, blogs, et cetera, but are html impaired.

February 14, 2006:

Well, I managed to finish a couple of things that I didn't expect to today. I transcribed another Nightbreed related article from Shivers magazine (which was actually published a decade after Nightbreed's release as sort of a retrospective piece) and designed & coded the Director's Cut section. Frankly, those are two fairly huge, time consuming additions, so I didn't have time to do anything else. However, I hope to start adding descriptions to the character page tomorrow (or Thursday at the very latest).

February 13, 2006:

Everything's coming together quite nicely. I finished setting up the forum yesterday, so that's out of the way. Today, I made a banner for Midian and designed a section called "Location Of Midian", which you can find under Resources. Although I've yet to find out where some of the filming locations were, it includes what I thought was some very interesting information regarding both Clive Barker's Midian and the Midian that existed during biblical times. Not that I'm a religious person, mind you, but I'm fairly sure that Ashberry's scripture based mention of Midian wasn't an accident or coincidence. And although I intended to finish the character and director's cut pages before I opened the site for "business", I think there's enough content to open the proverbial doors tonight.

February 12, 2006:

Side projects aside, I finished formatting the script and transcribed an article published by Slaughterhouse Magazine in 1989 entitled "Nightbreed". Although the article itself is mildly disappointing and surprisingly short because they'd only been filming for three weeks at the time of the mini-interview, it's still worth a peek (if for no other reason than to find out what Clive Barker wanted to have imprinted on his headstone back then). I do plan to format the script a bit better in the future & add more articles, but I'd like to open the site with pages that say a bit more than "Coming Soon". The Director's Cut section is next on my agenda, but I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day setting up the forum (or sleeping).

February 11, 2006:

Today was a day of ironing out technical difficulties. And on days like that, you don't generally make a lot of updates that people will actually notice. I did, however, get the front page graphic finished and started formatting the script. I'd planned to do a lot more, but think I might try to finish the script or transcribe an article tonight because that section looks terribly empty. That being written, I'm going to get back to work now.

February 10, 2006:

I finished the FAQs today, but will obviously add more when the need arises. I also managed to finish the video section, the soundtrack section (although it needs a bit more tweaking in respect to aesthetics) and the credits, which are unfinished as far as the crew members go, but adequate for the time being. Other than that, I started designing the characters section today. And although I realize it may seem unorthodox considering the fact that this site is dedicated to a movie, I plan to use the film and "Cabal" to describe the characters in better detail. I might add more to that section as time progresses, but I doubt I'll bother with the characters that don't particularly interest me (like Eigerman, Joyce, Pettine and Sheryl Ann).

February 9, 2006:

I managed to take some more screenshots, bringing the grand total of pictures posted to 90. I still have more to add, but that's a sufficient number to open the site with, so I'm going to start concentrating on the Resources section or the FAQs because I've secretly been dreading the thought of doing either of them. The FAQs will probably be lame when the site opens because "F" obviously stands for frequently, but I'd like to have the page in place regardless.

February 8, 2006:

I didn't get anything substantial in regards to content done today, but I finished setting up the forum, made a custom 404 page, finished coding the video pages and set up a guestbook. And although I'll probably concentrate on taking more pictures tomorrow, I should probably devote some time and attention to the resources section. I don't know if I'll get an article transcribed before the site officially opens, but I plan to try.

February 7, 2006:

I finished the sounds page today and organized the wavs alphabetically by character, set up a forum, managed to take quite a few pages worth of screenshots for the picture section, made two Nightbreed videos (including the trailer and Peloquin's infamous bite) & finished coding the contact page, site map and links section. A lot of the pages still currently say little more than "Coming Soon", but I plan to add much more content as time and resources allow. As for now, I am thoroughly exhausted and must recharge my proverbial batteries.

February 6, 2006:

Welcome to Midian, the unofficial site of Clive Barker's Nightbreed. As some of you know, I've dedicated the past six years to designing, maintaining and building The Devil's Playground (the unofficial site of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2). What started out with very humble beginnings became what can only be described as a juggernaut of information, interviews and multimedia. I hope to do the same with Midian. The process will likely be slow and tedious, but completely worthwhile. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 has always amused me in a sick sort of way, but Clive Barker's Nightbreed "spoke" to me. I hope you'll continue to check back for updates as this site grows, and that I can help form some sort of community for all of the Nightbreed fans out there who stumble into Midian looking for the sort of place that welcomes and accepts monsters.
